xp on a macOK, so it’s happened. As you can see, there’s Windows XP running on my new MacBook Pro.

Using Parallels went pretty well, except the XP disk I got was corrupt so the installation hung. Welcome to the world of Microsoft.

Another disk installed perfectly, and soon I was opening sites in IE6, and adjusting them in TextMate on the mac, refreshing and seeing the changes.

Unsurprisingly, running both OSs is a bit of a memory hog - even the Core 2 Duo is sluggish with only 1GB of RAM, so I’d say another gig or two might find its way into the machine soon.

But it makes a big difference to be able to test sites wherever I am, and with Parallels I can run Vista too when the time comes. And not having to shut down and reboot into just Windows (a la BootCamp) is a real benefit.

It just feels so wrong, somehow.
