End of Year Report

Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Early callIt’s been another successful and enjoyable year here at Moore Consulting Towers, and there’s just time for a quick round-up of what we’ve been up to this year.

New sites

It was great to build the new site for the Santa Fe International Folk Art Market. A really nice group of people, a fantastic event with really good long-term effects around the world.

Other new work included the site for law firm Harwood Consulting, and for creativity speakers and consultants Robert and Rebecca Bluestone (this in conjunction with Linda Johnson at Swell Design). Linda and I also worked together on the site for photographer Chris Felver.

Another notable new site was for the City of Santa Fe Economic Development team, where we worked with long-time collaborator Frank O’Mahony of NVNG, Inc.

Continuing Maintenance and Updates

Nearly half of Moore Consulting’s work in 2008 was in updating and maintaining the sites belonging to existing clients - including New Mexico Community Foundation and Santa Fe Prep School. I’ve also been helping New Mexico Magazine with their monthly updates.

As I expect to see at least as much work of this sort in 2009, I’m going to be setting aside regular blocks of time each week solely for updates, so we can combine this effectively with new construction work.

Richer Media

One trend that’s definitely increasing is the demand for richer media options with sites. This year we worked with a lot of photo slideshows, and video and audio clips. There are lots of tools available to make adding this sort of content to your site an affordable option, which is great.

In other news

This year I also went on a week-long cattle drive on assignment for a magazine article, and received my first commissions as a portrait photographer. I also consulted with photographers in my new capacity as Apple Certified Pro in Aperture.

Next year promises to be another varied and productive one - drop me a line if you think I can help you.
