Off the Road hits a million

Tuesday, February 14, 2006

The Off the Road travel site we built for the state (in conjunction with elemental studio) is racking up very healthy traffic figures. How healthy? How does 1.2 million hits in a week sound?

I know that’s hits not page accesses, but it’s doing so well the NM Economic Development Department have issued a press release giving the latest details on the sucess. An excerpt:

“This marketing effort is proof that people in and outside of New Mexico are eager to spend their dollars on town squares, main streets, and plazas across New Mexico if they just know where to go,” said New Mexico Economic Development Department Secretary Rick Homans. “Off the Road’s success is a victory for city centers and small-town business in our state.”

Major national news outlets including usatoday.com, cnn.com and Associated Press have spread the word about the grassroots project, and thousands of Americans showed their interest by visiting the site.
