New site for New Mexico State Economic Development Dept
Friday, February 04, 2005
Moore Consulting has just completed work on a site for the New Mexico State Economic Development Dept (EDD).
They needed a site planned and built very quickly (in less than ten days!) and aimed at a particular group of manufacturers considering relocating to New Mexico.
We worked with the EDD to help define the objectives, audience characteristics and requirements for the site, and then designed and built a clean and professional 20 page site.
The use of the Moore Consulting extranet site (a customised version of the Basecamp system) made transferring images and content simple, and all project communication was in the one place, so we all knew where we were in the middle of a tight production schedule.
Another strength was that by building the site using XHTML, with CSS for all text formatting (including the navigation options), it was easy to swap pages in and out (and change section names) without having to create new graphics for navigation buttons. In addition, mark-up for text formatting and image treatments (such as photo captions) was straightforward and consistent - crucial when you’ve got less than three days for site construction.
‘David’s insight and practical approach was just what we needed on this job,’ said Frank O’Mahony, Marketing Director of the EDD. ‘And we’re more than happy with the results.’
The site is password protected to ensure full access is only given to the intended audience, but the included grabs give a sense of the project.
