New site for Riskin Associates Architecture
Thursday, March 30, 2006
For some reason, may people think that architects (and by extension, architect’s websites) are only interested in houses. So the site we built for Riskin Associates Architecture is a useful antidote to that view.
(Full disclosure - Marci Riskin, principal of Riskin Associates, is my wife.)
Marci’s practice mainly focuses on public projects - schools, fire stations, universities - and so her audience for the website is very different from a high-end residential architect’s site, (such as Trey Jordan’s - another Moore Consulting project).
Her visitors want practical information, outlines of experience, and details on the firm’s approach. Too much flash, preening or theorizing don’t go down well.
So we built a clear and simple site that makes a strong case for Riskin Associates’ quality and reliability in both text and graphics.
Built with a fluid width using CSS and XHTML for layout and positioning, the site adapts well to a range of browsers and screen widths, and is fast to load even on the slowest public-sector internet connection.
Each project gets its own page, giving people options as to how deep they want to explore, and there’s room for expansion to add new work.
